Golden Gate Park (DeYoung Museum, Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, California Academy of Science)
oh gosh...i only have 6 days...LOLOL
Drive down Lumbard

(drive down Lumbard)
well, look all those up and see what appeals to you

Those are things I take folks to
(or took, I moved two hours away from the city and haven't done a visitor's tour in a while lol)

(Coit Tower)
Drive across the GG bridge and stop on the overlook on the Marin side
will you have a rental car?
take a cable car to Ghiradelli Square
or a boat across to Alcatraz
I guess six days I wouldn't go to the DeYoung or Exploratorium. They are great museums but not better than anything in any other major
The Exploratorium in in the Palace of Fine arts though (left over from the World's Fair at the turn of the last century) and is fairly

(palace of fine arts)
Union Square is the heart of the shopping district (but notorious for panhandlers and vagrants, or at least it was)

(union square)
Maritime Museum, take a street car down Market, Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building, Legion of Honor
The Cliff House/Sutro Baths
I would go see the Winchester Mystery House and take the midnight ghost tour.
(Winchester) I used to live a few blocks from there
I took that tour a half dozen times, it's cool, but a bit out of the way for a San Francisco trip
I haven't been, but its on my bucket list. Oh I'd go see the Halliwell Manor too.
the Castro is kind of Iconic, and the corner of Haight and Ashbury, just to drive through, but not really a destination
oh yes. Winchester is fun.
I never did a night tour, but yeah, that house is amazing.
I love that city so much. You will too
Pier 39 is fine, but honestly, it's just a shopping mall on a Pier and the parking is crazy expensive in that area. I guess you kinda
of have to go, but I haven't been back since we used to go as kids. there's so many other great things to see in that city.
although the sea lions sunning on the wood structures beneath the piers are pretty entertaining
yeah. I really wouldn't bother with Pier 39 unless you just like massive crowds. The sea lions are the best part.
and there's lots of touristy stuff around there (I think the Ripley's Believe it or not thing is still around there)
are you sorry you asked?
oh and if you like vintage clothing go to La Rosa on Haight. It's awesome for 20's - 60's vintage.
LOLOL...wow! No rental car...Im visiting a friend there so he has a car and we can take the bart.
what kind of clothing should i pack? I saw its only supposed to be 67-70 high there
When you get bored drive to Disneyland too hook up with me!! Lol.
oh yeah dont think my friend would drive that far
Lol. I know. I'm gonna try to make it up there. Even if I have to hop a flight.
ohhhh cool! I would love to hang out for a day!!!!
If I can make it, it'll be after the 6th, since that's my bday.
yeah...i dont leave until the 9th
Sweet. I'll have to make plans then.
weather can be so all over the place. I would say it's very very rare for it to be really hot (over 90) but you can be anywhere from 50 -80
on any given day, even on the same day, just depending on the fog layer
that makes clothing tough. I've been there in July in a sweat shirt, but if you count on that, you'll hit that stretch where the fog clears
out early and it actually gets warm lol
well idk about what you SHOULD see, but you WILL see a lot of homeless people and drug dealers... bring some pepper spray
I lived in the Mission for 9 or the 15 years I lived in SF and never had a problem. I wouldn't however walk around 6th and Market at night.
I knew two guys who were beat up and mugged there at different times. Not the best neighborhood even during the day, but safe enough. It's
really close to the touristy areas though, so it wouldn't be hard just to wander too far.
I worked at 9th and Market, and my husband grew up south of market, and I'd say the same thing. There are the same problems as in any big
the drug dealers and pan handlers never actually bothered me... well except this one time in the library lol
It's a culture shock if you come from a place with few homeless people. I mean every sitting has them but while I was in SF it was CRAWLING
and then standing outside of a little restaurant I had a guy asking me if I sold crack lol
I looked at my fat self and looked at him and go... "Do I look like someone in possession of meth?"
he proceeded to ask if I had coke or pot and lastly just a cigarette lol
I quickly found myself back inside my hotel room for the bulk of my visit
awww, that sucks. I'll admit I haven't just walked the streets in years. When I'm there I'm always going somewhere specific (usually a
relative's house). I know the homeless/drug problem is probably worse than it's been in a long time with this economy
thats just about anywhere now Renee
