The missing count keeps rising right along side the death toll. I don’t know anything about flood search and rescue but that seems so wrong to me, here four days (?) into this. It feels to me like the efforts must be insufficient for them to be adding 100 people to the missing list at this late date. 161 now missing after this long.

Currently 83 degrees locally. That’s a new record high for this date. And it’s not quite 2 o’clock. It’s going to get hotter before the day is over.

Bluesky is a hard place to be this morning. My feed is a three way split between excoriating Schumer (deserved but hard to see), persons freaking out that there's no more "rule of law" and people complaining that there's not enough outrage. I feel numb and somewhere beyond outrage. That's uncharted territory.

My doctor wouldn’t order a titer to check measles immunity for me so I went ahead and just paid for the vaccine out of pocket. My husband’s doctor ordered him the titer though and it came back negative, meaning he has no immunity to measles. We were both born before 1968, when the measles vaccine was improved.
