At the risk of offending people on my TL, I'm sorta frustrated with The Arcade. Everything I REALLY want is a rare and I'm just not willing to spend a ton of lindens on the off chance that I'll get what I want.
I wish we had the option AFTER the event of just buying what we want. I understand the appeal of a gatcha event from the seller's perspective. I've been there. It's a great money maker.
I just want a few teeny things not another 300 in my crazy-ass inventory!
the whole point of the way the event is set up is to get you to spend a lot in pursuit of the rares.
now what could be awesome cause I agree with tyr it wouldn't be fair but maybe with the stores who do a whole room maybe offer a slightly different room with different colors and all the for sale?
I understand all of that and I'm not saying it should change because I want it to. It's just me personally. I'm looking at the website and thinking, I just want that one thing. And the odds of getting it suck.

yep. You either have to spend a ton, get lucky at a yard sale, have a generous friend or decide you dont care that much about pixel stuff, which is what I ususally do

join the arcade group...alot of times if you ask someone for something there will be someone who will be willing to trade it or sell it to you...and some of the pilot rares ended up at yardsales last time

yeah, if you want the rare, just figure the cost of playing the machine 30 times or so is what the rare costs. If you still want it, go for it, and maybe you get lucky and get it sooner.

of course, maybe you get unlucky and it costs even more, but on average it seems like 30 plays will get you pretty much any rare.

people knock themselves out to make amazing things for the arcade because you will have to pay that much for the rares. It's part of the deal.

I do wish there was some kind of default option like "after you've played 30 or 40 times, choice of payouts", cuz the fact that you can't absolutely guarantee getting a rare no matter how much you play does

I only do the ones where I'd be ok with most of the payouts, even if I like the rare more.
the arcade was kind to me last time and I got rares and the rares I didn't care for, I traded for a rare I wanted in the Arcade chat
Yeah, i rarely ever hit the arcade, but sometimes i go to arcade sales
