I have some sort of throat thing. I don't think it's strep; both my kids had it and both tested negative for strep. But my throat and the back of my tongue are just on fire. Torn up, ragged, hurting bad.

the only thing that makes me feel any better is ice water. I have had a gallon today so far, I'm sure. I've never had anything like this.

That sounds horrible. Not a big fan of going to doctors but....

If my kids hadn't had it last week, I'd be more worried, but I took them to the doctor and got a big fat "you wasted your time and your co-pay, not a thing I can do for them". It really is horrible though

Don't laugh... liquid antacid.... sounds like you have the virus that gives you canker type sores in your throat hurts like ^%*$^%$.

yeah, it does feel like I have canker sores all over my throat and tongue. I'll try that!
