has anyone done this "eat to live" diet? It's extreme, but the claims it makes are unreal. I think I could do it if it really makes you feel that much better. It's like no fat, low protein, vegan though

That's pretty much my worst nightmare.

reading about it in First magazine and trying to decide if I should buy the book (there's a long wait list for a copy from my library)

yeah, but they claim you adapt and then love it. You have all the cravings you have because you don't get enough nutrients. If you eat all this raw food, your cravings go away.

And then these chicks are talking about losing 100 lbs in 6 months and I'm all, oh. So can I lose 50 in 3? Cuz I can do anything for 3 months

it's salad with no dressing, fruit/greens smoothies for breakfast, soup or salad for dinner. It's veggies and beans and fruits all the time. A few whole grains. I need to talk to someone who's done this

me too. But I feel like crap, and I'm fat. But mostly it's the feel bad part I have to fix. I have zero energy and a head ache all the time

I can't do low protein with my workout schedule, and no fat diets are bad for vitamin absorption.

It sounds incredibly unhealthy. If you starve yourself (which you would do eating very little protein, no fat and very low cal carbs) you will lose weight. You will also be weak, depressed, etc.

I have a friend who pretty much eats like that. Vegan but never anything like candies or anything. Just like straight up carrot juice and salad all day

Raw vegan so no cooked anything

But I dont know the details of that diet itself!

Most of these diets basically just have you cutting out processed crap, which is really a lot better for you.

Not that I'm doing my doctor's orders right now, but I will get back to it eventually. lol

The big thing is, Renee, is that whether you do low protein vegan or high protein low carb, almost any of these plans have you cutting out processed sugar & flour.
Alicia ✿ says

There's nothing in white flour or white sugar that you need and processed junk can make you feel sick.

You know, for me personally that would be hell. I love fruits and vegetables, but not enough to go exclusive. I'd be supremely unhappy.

yeah, they claim you get plenty of protein form the veggies, because you are eating a lot of veggies to get enough calories. You can have like 4 or 8 oz (I'm not sure which) of fish or poultry a WEEK, so you

can spread that over a few meals as a condiment, but mostly no meat

I always feel better when I cut out processed foods and sugar, but I don't lose much weight that way. This diet makes ridiculous claims for weightloss and turning around pre-diabetic and hypertensive issues

but so far I'm just going by what the First magazine piece says. They claim Dr. Oz endorses it.

The First article talks about having some whole grains (steel cut oats and brown rice) and some starchy veggies (potatoes) but right, most of your food is greens, with beans, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions

fruit and avocado as "flavoring"

I love me a big salad, but I always put dressing on it.  I'm not sure I can eat a dry salad.  I can mash an avocado up or something, but of course you have to limit those.

With all the different types it is not for everyone, clearly. Like being vegetarian is not for everyone, or eating meat is not for everyone. Not everyone

I agree with this. I know people that thrive on low carb and I had a lot of issues from all the fat and protein. I didn't feel especially good on it at all, though I did lose a lot of weight fast.

there's a lot of wheat allergies in my family. We avoid it and feel better. Potatoes make me vaguely sick to my stomach too if I have more than a few bites. I feel like this diet lines up pretty well with
