today's nightmare. Why would something have a normal texture when rezzed on the ground, but be all messed up when worn (normals looked flipped but there's more going on). HALP

plus I can't bake the AO on it, it keeps crashing

but I figured I'd look at it in world and see if I even wanted to bother trying to keep working on it

I imported it with and without textures.  Applied the textures with it rezzed, etc.

once again, I do not understand how you folks do it.   (mesh makers)

your tolerance for frustration must be astronomical

sometimes i have to make something a few times before i get it right :/ like that dream necklace i made? i had to make it from scratch 3 times cause i kept messing up, and it would have too many polys or i'd

flip something that totally twisted everything around...

those of us with no formal training in it are really masochistic lol

I don't understand why the normals would flip when it's worn!

if its crashing when you try to bake the ao something must have gone weird somewhere in building it..

maybe it's an issue with the texture. I should start over with that. It looks fine without a texture on it.
Renee Harvy says

yeah, it baked the texture, but the AO bake to overlay it just stalls out

I was going to try the export import thing, and see if I could bake it then, but then I got to this bs inworld lol.

that's no texture, just color (attached). The normals are fine there.

and I did take classes (at my local JC) and this is still the best I can do lol

maybe your texture has a weird alpha. what if you put another random texture on it
Renee Harvy says

yeah, that's what I was thinking when I said maybe the texture, but that didn't fix it. :-(
Renee Harvy says

huh, well. I started fiddling with stuff in the edit menu in world, and changing the "alpha mode" from blending to None fixed it. I never even noticed "alpha mode" before, much less have any idea what it's
Renee Harvy says

doing, but it fixed it.
