so, the good thing is, this is fun and I really liked doing it. The bad news is, I threw light after light on it, and could not get that bottom to lighten up much. I angled multiple spots right at it, so idk.

it's probably one of those things you just start over on. But I added a pillow
Lighten the uv in Photoshop?
yeah perhaps do some level adjustment in photoshop to the base texture.
yeah, it's weird, the texture fades right out to black, so it's hard, there's no detail there and nothing to lighten except at the margin
it doesn't seem that bad though...
and it was fun building something besides stupid shoes that never come out good enough to sell
there anything extra in your blender scene that might be adding a shadow?
i used to think i could make a copy and put it off to the side and then hide it and forget about it and then it would shade stuff in the scene... had to learn about layers
hmmm, there's a plane, which I forgot I added. OMG
I added it to bake a shadow under it, but that's another whole kettle of worms
try tossing it out and rebake i bet that's it. its killing the lighting under your couch
Are you doing full render or ambient occlusion?
I could hug you! I'm sure that's it. And I looked right at it a million times and never thought of that.
I baked an AO and layered it over the texture and then did a full render
but the AO wasn't strong enough to wash out the shadow, or it was affected by the plane too, I'm not sure which
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
