Don't like smut? Then don't read smutfics??

Good for the authors who don't mind marking out the smut bits so readers can skip but it just feels so...

Like if people write it, it's essential to the story to some degree

("What if self-indulgent and unnecessary" someone wrote it because it meant something to them, it can be self-indulgent but you don't get to call it unnecessary)
