This is not a cry for help or me asking for money. This is just me ranting essentially.
So, the two asshole roommates finally moved out. Finally got all their crap out. We were all so happy.
One of my best friends of 13 years moved in with his girlfriend. Everything was finally coming together. We were all starting to feel like a family.
Ex roommates went to the landlords office and told a bunch of lies about us. About how we have destroyed the house. How we claim we aren't gonna fix anything. How we are letting our pets destroy the place. Just...everything to make us look bad.
So essentially, we are being evicted. Originally they told us we have until next Monday to leave. Now, if we can come up with all of rent by friday, we can stay until the 31.
Its just...stressful. I am going to be asking if I can get an emergency advance on my back pay. idk.
...So the landlord people aren't even going to do an inspection or anything to make sure they aren't just spewing bullshit?
Well, thats the thing. They sent the office's secretary's son to take pictures and do an inspection. He doesn't see anything wrong with the place.
He took pictures. He said the few minor damages were just wear and tear of living in a home. So he is trying to talk to them. IDK. Apparently, the actual owner also wants to sell the house so she doesn't want us to stay here.
They're giving these idiots way too much power over a place they don't live at anymore.
Regardless, I am going to be heading to disability office tomorrow to ask for an emergency advance on my backpay to put a deposit and first months rent on a place.
Unfortunately, landlords can do these sorts of things, even if there's no real reason to.
My family had one night's notice to vacate a property because the landlord, on a whim, decided she wanted to move from NY to CA and back into the house.
I wish you good luck in finding somewhere new.
well one of my roommates dad is a cop and he said they can't legally do that here so idk
Checking out what rights you have legally is always a good idea, too.
yeah hit up your state's tenants rights laws
