Preach is okay but he sometimes feels like such a staunch realist that some of the more romantic (as in romanticism) moments of the story doesn't move him much. But he's still cool and still funny in small doses

since Nobbel put up his video (ostensibly about his thoughts on ShB?), figured I'd talk a bit about him-- I had maybe unfairly high hopes since I'd heard that he was The Lore Guy in WoW and figured maybe he'd enjoy FF14's slowburn story.

Instead, the last time I popped in to watch him live, he was complaining about how ShB was basically him "having to clean up Ardbert's mess" and just, yeah. His stream, his reactions, sure. But if your takeaway from ShB is that "I gotta fix someone else's mistake angery" then idk

Compare/contrast with Preach who'd confessed himself to not be one for JRPG/"anime" tropes, and Preach was so much more invested in the story than the "Lore Guy" ever was

did a quick skim through the Youtube comments and sounds like his misunderstanding goes way deeper than just "y do i gotta clean up after Ardbert", so there, the lore guy was playing story and not understanding story....

maybe we were just expecting too much and unfairly from a dude who probably just wanted to switch off and game lol..
