I passed on these figures 4 years ago because they showed a ton of skin and I was waiting for Nendoroids that never came lol. Then it was just waiting and hoping for a rerelease of those figures that also never materialised

then I happened to read a tweet by someone who speculated that k-ani might be the reason why we haven't gotten any more figures. And it checks out because the only recent series that got any decent scaled figures was Dragon Maid... neither Kyoukai no Kanata nor Violet Evergarden got any scaled figures which is a crying shame

and then it clicked - there won't be any figure rerelease because Alter most likely no longer has the rights to make any more figures ): so after a lot of kicking myself for not picking up those figures when they didn't cost an obscene amount of money, I trawled all the usual places and a few user listings hoping to find them again

JPY rate is at the lowest it's been for me so part of why I can go ham with spending is also thanks to that lol

long story short if you really REALLY want a figure, buy it now /irresponsible spending hours

my surugaya box is here today, can confirm that they have pretty non-existent packaging for overseas shipping |D

one of the figure boxes got slightly dinged but they're both wrapped to a huge piece of cardboard so I gotta wait till the weekend to check

my last Sousuke figure is stuck at customs but my parcels were piling up and so I decided to put them away

these, I got for fairly decent prices - both Makoto are from Surugaya and the swimsuit one was even below retail. Sousuke was a lucky find on Rakuten JP and looks unopened

I'm really pleased to have gotten them lol, I fell hard for these two in recent years, and the last Sousuke figure (the one with customs :') ) has always been one of my faves, so knowing that this is about my last chance to get any decent physical merch of them, I pulled the trigger

kinda wish I had proper display space for them

if anyone wants to see how Surugaya International ships their packages, this is what I received lol. Two figures taped to a giant cardboard box. No bubble wrap no nothing

watergun Makoto's box suffered some minor and acceptable damage, but if a pristine box matters, definitely use a proxy to buy from Surugaya JP

my long-awaited Sousuke figure arrived on his birthday 🥲 aaaaaa

I got him for Not A Good Price lol, but I also noticed he's basically mint in box

considering I was ready to shell out the money for a second-hand figure, I guess it's not that bad hahaha

he's absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I can almost understand why he goes for the prices he does lmao
